An effort, spearheaded by Senator Bret Allain is currently underway to revitalize the effort to complete the I-49 from Lafayette to New Orleans. The completion of the Interstate would enhance economic development, provide safer infrastructure for motorists and provide a more efficient evacuation route in the event of emergencies.

A Stakeholders’ meeting will be held on Monday March 18 for all individuals and businesses that are interested in seeing the project to fruition.  The meeting will be held at the Patterson Civic Center (116 Cotten Road, Patterson) on Monday March 18 at 3:00 p.m.  The formation of a new 1-49 South Coalition will be discussed.  Please plan to attend this meeting or if you are unable to attend please consider sending a representative in your place.

At its’ February meeting the Board of Directors of the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce unanimously agreed to become a founding member of the Coalition and requests that you consider supporting the effort.  Please click the links below for more information and a membership application.
