Name: Big Boy Cook - off
    Date: November 8, 2019
    Time: 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM CST
    Event Description:
Flocked with locals and visitors alike, Big Boy’s Main Street Cook-Off is a culinary showcase of Cajun cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients found along the bayou. In a two block area of Historic Downtown Thibodaux, Big Boy’s takes place each year as the kick-off event of the Thibodeauxville Fall Festival weekend. This year it’s bigger and better than ever with 30+ teams cooking up dishes like shrimp & grits, jambalaya boulettes and charbroiled oysters…it’s one of the bayou’s best kept secrets!

Kicking off in 2001, the cook-off attracts hundreds of attendees in the lively nightlife district of Downtown Thibodaux. With a stage set up for local entertainment, tents lining the inner streets and unique Louisiana fare being served in every direction you look, it’s the best block party next to Mardi Gras.

We’re bringing back the best – Nonc Nu and Da Wild Matous! Their music is a mix of many different genres, including zydeco, rock and country. You might learn a few new words from Nonc Nu as well! Their lyrics are infused with both English and Cajun French and tell stories of childhood memories growing up along the bayou in South Louisiana.

Big Boy’s Main Street Cook-Off is Friday, November 8, 2019 in Historic Downtown Thibodaux. Admission is $10 and includes samples from cook-off participants. Gates open at 4:00 PM and cook-off participants will begin serving at 6:00 PM. For more information call (985) 413-9886.
